September Make-Up Favourites

Wow this year is flying by i can't believe its October already but its my favourite time of year, i absolutely love Autumn and cant wait to share so autumnal blog posts with you but lets start of with my September make-up favourites

L'oreal True Match Foundation
This foundation has been a favourite of mine for many months especially throughout the summer. I love the fact its quite a lightweight foundation with a medium coverage that is build-able it also has a nice dewy finish and has tiny shimmers throughout it which gives a pearl finish. L'oreal True match has massive variety of shades to fit all skin colours i find some foundations really hard to match my skin colour but these have such amazing matches.

FREEDOM Brow Pomade
I had only just recently started using this product but it has quickly become a favourite of mine, i have always used the revolution brow palette but i had found the wax a bit thin but with this pomade its nice a thick and you can create a really nice realistic brow shape that doesn't look too fake.

Revolution Ultra Pro Cream Contour
Cream Contour has become a must in my makeup routine especially on night outs, i just love the finish it gives. Revolution ultra pro cream contour kit has a massive variety of shades i prefer the more ashy colours the 3 on the bottom of the palette which suit my skin tone better. This product is creamy and blends out very well i normally use a beauty  blender to blend out my cream contour.

Revolution Ultra Pro Glow
Its known how much I love highlight so when I saw this palette in superdrug i just had to buy it and im so glad i did because its become such a favourite of mine, with nine different highlighting shades ranging in colours you can create so many amazing looks and are sure to glow on variety of skin tones.

N.Y.X Baked Blush in Wanderlust
I've started to really get into baked blushes i just prefer the finish, i love this coral colour from N.Y.X it has such a beautiful shimmer since I love a dewy finish its just the perfect blush for me plus they're fairly cheap.

How To: Get Luminous skin for summer

So as Summer is approaching soon its the time I start to prefer having more of a luminous glow skin so I thought I would write a blog post about some of the products I like to use some of them are new products and some of them I've always used.

L'oreal Lumi Magique
I had heard so many mixed reviews on this foundation most of them good but a few of them bad so I had mix feelings about purchasing this foundation but I thought I may as well try this out and give it a go and guess what I LOVE it. In summer I hate having a thick matte foundation on but i do like a medium coverage so this is just perfect for me, it makes my skin so nice a glowy perfect for those summer months.

Simple Illuminating Radiance Cream
LOVE LOVE LOVE this moisturiser for summer I normally wear this everyday for work because my skin just so moisturised and illuminated. For days when I wear make up I like to use this moisturiser as a base for my illuminated skin it just makes my skin glow especially when light reflects of your skin.

Mac Strobe Cream
Everyone I know knows how much I love this product especially when I use this with this with the simple illuminating radiance cream its just a dream honestly I feel like my skin is as glowy as the sun I just love it its such a great base for your foundation.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer
I don't use any other concealer for my under eye area this just brightens them and doesnt leave many creases like a thicker concealer like the collection one or the urban decay in which you might need to put more powder to stop the creases, this is just so brightening and really makes me look more awake.

Sleek Precious Metals Highlighting Palette
This palette comes with 4 gorgeous highlighting shades 3 which are cream based and one which is powder based i will only use the powder based one when I'm tanned otherwise I'd probably use it more like a bronzer. but this palette is beautiful the shades are so shimmery and really make your cheeks pop I'm loving the fact the drug store brands are bringing out highlighting and contour products big thumbs up from me.

Make-Up Collection and Storage | Beauty

In this post im going to be showing you my Make-Up Storage and A few pieces from my collection. I have been building this collection up for a while I love make up and I'm not trying to boast just wanting to show how i store my collection and some of the pieces that i use.

Storage

My Desk is from Ikea with the Alexa 5 draws this is where i store my makeup. I also have a a desk topper from the Alexa Range, on the left side i display my perfumes my two favourites at the moment are Viva La Juicy La Fleur and Lovestruck. On the right side i display my make-up brushes (which i apologise need a clean) the brushes are displayed in an Ikea plant pot and two candle holders i also have my mac brush cleaner for when i want to give some brushes a quick clean.

Draw One

So I call this my face draw as I Store my foundations, concealers, primers, face powders and Highlighters. I like variety in my foundations so there is a range of medium to heavy coverage and matt and illuminating foundations. Normally I only use two concealers I tend to not branch out as I just love the Rimmel wake me up and the collection lasting perfection concealer.

Here's some of my favourite products from this draw

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation
I love this foundation for a night out or going out for a meal as it just gets rid of all my imperfections and has a brilliant coverage. It is a thick foundation this is why I normally just use it for night outs and date nights I find it too thick for in the day but over all it is a lovely foundation.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer
This is perfect for brightening the under eye area, it is illuminating and has a medium coverage so doesn't crease that much as a thicker one i use this with a yellow brightening powder to continue to brighten my under eye.

Mac Strobe Cream
I LOVE this product its in-between a primer and a moisturiser I use it along side benefit porefessional. The strobe cream illuminates your skin for a gorgeous glow perfect for the summer months. it also looks beautiful without foundation for those days when you want to be make-up free but want an extra glow.

Mac Soft and Gentle
I don't know what else to say about this but AMAZING the glow and glitter when the sunlight hits my cheeks. I love it again perfect for those summer months when wanting extra glow.

Draw Two

This draw goes by the name of Eye draw I store small eye-shadow palettes eye brow products, mascaras, eye-liners and eye shadow primers. from a variety of Kohl and liquid eye liners, brow sets, brow palettes and mascaras.

Here's some of my favourites from this draw

Soap and Glory Super Cat Liquid Eye Liner
It took me a while to get used to eye-liner I've tried a bunch but this one has become my favourite it is so easy to use and amazingly black for a drug store liquid eye liner. Honestly I wouldn't use any other for a quick easy wing and its a brilliant price too.

L'oreal False Lash Sculpt
I was very sceptical to try this mascara because of the unusual wand but honestly its unusual wand makes it such a great mascara it helps get right to rim of the eyelashes to create lovely thick lashes.

Draw Three

The lip draw to be truly honest I tend to keep to nudes hence why I don't have loads of lipsticks because I'm just not that into lipstick. I am trying to venture more towards lipsticks though so watch this space. I also keep my eye lashes in this draw.

Mac Honey Love
What can I say I love nude colours Honey love is my favourite nude, its just perfect for my skin tone and I just love how it complements my make-up.

L'oreal JLo's Nude
I had to put a drug store nude in their Jlo's nude is my favourite from the drug store this lipstick is highly pigmented and very creamy and nourishing to the lips.

Draw Four

A draw full of variety, from bronzer's and contour kits to blushes and blush palettes. I also have my larger eye-shadow palettes in this draw.

 Mac Baked Blush Modest
A beautiful subtle pink blush perfect for the pop of colour to your cheeks

L'oreal Infallible Sculpt Contour Kit
This is cream to powder consistency, I really love this product as I'm quite new to cream contour i think this is brilliant for just getting started and I'm loving the fact drug store are bringing out really good contouring products.

Urban Decay Gwen Stefani palette
A brilliant palette which a great variety of colours really loving this as you know I love my browns and nudes and this palette is full of them

Mac Warms Palette
A palette full of warm tone colours what more could I ask for, warm toned eye-shadows suit my eye colour and i love this palette it has great variety of shades and colours that match well together.

The Balm Nude Tude
A new one to my collection but a new favourite I actually picked this up from T K Max for a cheaper price so quick go have a look to see if there's any left. But again full of nudes matte and shimmering a brilliant palette.

(The containers that holds all my make-up are kitchen utensil organisers from Ikea)

Current Skincare Routine - Clinique, Benefit, Liz earle

I'm constantly changing up my skincare routine, buying new products and changing it up. This is my current skincare routine that I have been loving using products from Clinique, Benefit and Liz Earle.

Clinique dramatically different lotion
I've been using this moisturiser for a while now i normally use this just before i go to bed i tend to like thick moisturisers for night as i think it make its more moisturising but actually it doesn't. This moisturiser is so light it dries within seconds and that is absolute bliss it leaves your skin silky soft but without the oiliness feeling definitely a 10/10 for this moisturiser.

                          Benefit Triple Performing Facial Emulsion
This moisturiser I use throughout the day as it has a tri-complex which will help capture and maintain the water on your face to keep your skin feeling hydrated and looking fresh throughout the day. especially throughout the summer I like a nice dewy skin and during the week I try not to wear make-up to I just put this moisturiser on and I feel hydrated all day, definitely a good purchase.

Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic
This is probably the only product I haven't changed since Christmas. I got this as a Christmas present with the Liz Earle cleanse and polish and yes it has lasted me this long which is a bonus since i love it so much. This toner does the job it closers pore and feels great on my skin it also removes the last bit of makeup still left on your face after washing it off.

Clinique Anti-blemish Solutions Clarifying Lotion
This lotion is great is you have a few breakouts now and again, recently i use to wear make-up everyday and suffered a few breakouts i bought this and was so happy with the results. this lotion helps clear dead skin cells and reduce oil to may lead to breakouts it also helps unclog pores and eliminates shine.

Clinique Take the Day Off Make-up Remover
As most makeup removes they do the job but this make-up removers really gets of that hard to get off mascara them stained red lipstick and that not going to move eye-shadow that you thinks a great idea until its time to take it off for bed.

Clinique Repairwear Laser Focus Eyecream
I was never one for eye creams before but recently have been seeing a few bags under my eyes from working and not getting enough sleep, this is an wrinkle correcting eye cream but i think the sooner you start the better.

Anxiety/depression my story

I'm writing this post to tell you my story of suffering anxiety and depression, I want to help people who suffer from it and think there's no help or too scared to get help. I'm happy to answer any questions you may have, I want to tell this story as honest as I can and the feeling I felt through out my suffering, I still suffer slightly today but I can manage a lot better than I use to be able to and hopefully this post may help you too.

So I guess I'm going to start with school (when I went to my counsellor I never thought school bothered me until I went so I'm going to start here) to start with school was a happy place I loved going I had friends that id grown up with there and enjoyed every day, until someone called me skinny, anorexic, skinny bitch that's when it all changed. For a few years I dreaded going to school even if it didn't happen in days or months I was on  edge from there. I used to go to school with a smile on my face but away dying inside id go home and cry in my room at night so no one knew I was ashamed, ashamed of the way I looked I hated myself. Why didn't I have bigger legs? Why don't I have boobs? Why can you see my ribs? We're many questions is ask myself. As I got older it stopped from the person, I don't know why but it just did but then doesn't say it didn't scar me and I wasn't on edge everyday because I still was. When I got to year 10/11 I felt a bit happy we'll should I say I thought I was. I found a group of friends who made me feel safer and happier but I was still questions myself in the mirror in the morning. I'm going to try and put my story in less detail now as it's going to end up being 10 pages long!! So time when on at school got through my gcses
And again thought I was happy. I wouldn't wear certain clothes because they'd make me look skinner id wear 3 to 4 pairs of leggings to make my legs look bigger and just went on with my days. Time went on and I left school and went to college, the day I started college I've never been so nervous I knew I was quite a shy person and I was scared I wasn't going to make any friends it took me a while to settle in to college but eventually I made an amazing set if friends. Unlike school I never felt I had to be someone I was not and I truly enjoyed college. I still asked the same questions everyday but college was a little bit easier. When I left college I started a full time job in a nursery this was a big change for me and it must has knocked me over the edge. For a while I was okay but one day, I had a massive panic attack at work. I had no idea what was going on a literally thought I was dying until the paramedics came and explained everything for me. I went on my days as normal trying to convince myself I was okay.. But I wasn't. As Time went on and I kept everything in I was breaking I had panic attacks nearly everyday was scared to go to work. I was even having them when I was asleep I didn't get any sleep and everything terrified me. One day I cracked and just ran home and was screaming and crying help to my dad. My dad didn't know what was going on he was scared for me as much as I was scared for myself. I explained all my feeling to my dad and to my mum when she came home from work. My mum understood as two of out family members had gone through the same thing. She told me to get in touch with my family member and ask them for advice and where to get help from. My family member told me to go to doctors and explain everything fully so they understand and after 3 visits to the doctors I was diagnosed with severe anxiety and depressions and  i got transferred to a counsellor. I visit the counsellor for a few months and the first few times I was crying all the way through as things from my past was why I was feeling like this ie school which is why I had to put it at the beginning. The counsellor gave me techniques to help me with my anxiety and depression and that's what I go by today, if I ever feel anxious or down I just go through this techniques. I don't ever hate the people who called me those things and who didn't understand what I was going through, sometimes we don't know what we're doing at a young age and I just hope that those people are happy and don't do those things any more. The things those people said was stopping but I had them in my head and then put myself down everyday I was the one saying them now.

So know I've told my story and I haven't gone into as much detail at the end because I didn't want it to be too long. I want to share my story as I suffered for years but now I want to help others so they don't have to suffer like I did. Anxiety and depressions makes you feel alone a big deep hole underground and no way out but don't worry there's always a way out. If you have any question got want to know anything else please ask I am happy to answer as I know I a haven't going in to every detail and there's probably things I've missed. I want to make this blog a place where people can come for advice or just something to make them feel better.

Don't be alone in your suffering, we're human we help each other even though some times this world doesn't see the good all time. But there's always good somewhere.

If may seem hard but with anxiety we worry about all the bad try changing your thought to positives little by little :)

Bath Time Essentials| Review

My Bath Time Essentials

When i run a bath i purposely run one to relax and wind down from a busy day at work or just running around so here a few of my bath time essentials.

Lush Turkish Delight shower smoothie: This shower smoothie is full of cocoa butter and almond oil to nourish your skin and make it so soft as well as leaving your body feeling fully cleansed.

Avon Moroccan Argan oil: Any shampoo with moroccan argan oil in is just a bliss, but recently i've been loving this one from avon. It leaves your hair soft and nourished also it gets rid of that 'raggy' feeling.

Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub: This body scrub leaves your body smooth and feeling new, the smell just tops of the product a sweet smell with a sense of nutty smell in there. Honestly get yourselves down to boots to smell this its amazing.

Soap & Glory Smoothie Body Milk: After a good bath you need to apply a good moisturiser to keep your skin moisturised and replenished. This moisturiser is the most nourishing moisturiser i've ever had and the smell just tops it off it reminds me of breakfast "it makes me want to eat it" obviously you can't eat it as it wouldn't taste very nice and could harm you.

Starlytes Candle: Finally you can't have a relaxing bath without a candle, this one is starlytes candle in vanilla cupcake the starlytes candles are made from soya and are such a nice smell this was £5.

Favourite Iphone apps| lifestyle

Being constantly on the go my Iphone apps are like heaven to me as i don't have much time on my laptop anymore with constantly commuting to work or having a busy weekend. My iphone is my saviour, so I thought i would do a blog post on my favourite iphone apps to show you what i use on a daily basis.

Firstly theirs Blogger, as i don't get to go on my laptop very much anymore due to my job i do most of my blogging from my phone and edit it when i get back as quickly as i can. I travel an hour and a half every day to work and back so i have a lot of free time to get all my blogging done and write down my blogging ideas. So if your constantly on the go like me i suggest you get the blogger app as its just so much easier.

If your like me and constantly love taking pictures of memories or just pretty scenery or objects then instagram is the best app for you (even thought most of the population have it already) but if you don't then i guarantee it will be the best download you make all year and to top it off its FREE! If you would like to follow my instagram its @laurenread1995

I remember the days when twitter wasn't cool and nobody really had it but now it seems like everyone's tweeting and mainly from their phones. I prefer the app to the laptop version as i just find it easier to use, so i'm constantly checking twitter while on my phone. If you would like to follow my twitter its @Lauren_Read i'd love to follow some new twitters and especially blogger ones

Next is pinterest, i love this app to look for photography inspiration and to just look at some really pretty pictures most of the time. I also look for tattoo ideas as i'm planning my next tattoo and they have a lot of photos of tattoos so it can give you some great ideas to make.

We heart is the last of my favourite apps, this is just like pinterest but it has different pictures so if you want apps to look at pretty pictures or give you ideas then we heart it and pinterest are the apps for you.
